A
year after The Body Shop’s successful partnership with actress Lily
Cole, the cruelty-free beauty retailer has tapped another Brit “it-girl”
to be its brand activist: X Factor winner Leona Lewis.
As
part of her partnership, Lewis has teamed with the brand to create her
own limited-edition makeup and fragrance collection, launching in the
U.S. on April 15 — and we’ve got a first look here.
Lewis’s
line includes four high-shine lip glosses, two shimmering blush
palettes, a blush brush and a sweet adaptation of the brand’s cult
classic white musk scent, called “White Musk Libertine.”
While the product range is small, picking a favorite has been hard for Lewis. “I adore them all,” she admits. “I
am a huge fan of The Body Shop’s shimmer palettes, so I couldn’t resist
adding them to my own collection. [And] shiny lips continue to be a big
trend, so lip gloss was definitely a must-have.”
In addition
to helping create her own line of products, the singer will also lend
her voice to the brand’s campaign to end animal testing. The long-time
vegetarian joins The Body Shop in celebrating the European Union’s ban
on animal testing, which goes into effect Monday, and they will continue
to work with NGO Cruelty Free International to advocate for a global
ban on animal testing.
“I’m really conscious of where the
products that I use come from,” Lewis has said of choosing to partner
with The Body Shop. “The collaboration is a natural fit.”
