Sonya Leebenham for Babble writes:
Have you heard of Flower? Maybe I’m behind the curve, but I just learned of this cosmetics company yesterday. Perhaps it’s because Flower doesn’t advertise. That’s right – they don’t advertise. At all.

The concept behind the Flower cosmetics line is simple: eliminate the advertising budget and pass the savings along to consumers. This strategy allows them to offer luxury-quality makeup at drug store prices. In fact, Flower is exclusively found in Walmart stores and on Walmart.com.

So how does Flower publicize their product line? Well, it doesn’t hurt that Drew Barrymore is one of the owners. The actress uses her star power to help promote the line and even stars in video tutorials on the website.

Barrymore helped develop the line in collaboration with beauty product manufacturer Maesa and Walmart. Flower consists of 181 cosmetics including products for face, eyes, lips, and nails. Prices range from $4.98 to $13.98, making high-quality makeup accessible to a much wider demographic.

Better quality for less money sounds like a win-win to me.
