Sonya Leebenham for Babble writes:
Have you heard of Flower? Maybe I’m behind the curve, but I just learned of this cosmetics company yesterday. Perhaps it’s because Flower doesn’t advertise. That’s right – they don’t advertise. At all.

The concept behind the Flower cosmetics line is simple: eliminate the advertising budget and pass the savings along to consumers. This strategy allows them to offer luxury-quality makeup at drug store prices. In fact, Flower is exclusively found in Walmart stores and on Walmart.com.

So how does Flower publicize their product line? Well, it doesn’t hurt that Drew Barrymore is one of the owners. The actress uses her star power to help promote the line and even stars in video tutorials on the website.

Barrymore helped develop the line in collaboration with beauty product manufacturer Maesa and Walmart. Flower consists of 181 cosmetics including products for face, eyes, lips, and nails. Prices range from $4.98 to $13.98, making high-quality makeup accessible to a much wider demographic.

Better quality for less money sounds like a win-win to me.

File this under: It's about time!

Nail art enthusiast Zooey Deschanel is getting her own nail decals. The New Girl star and one half of band She & Him (her bandmate is M. Ward), is collaborating with Rad Nails for a set of limited edition nail stickers that match the pair's newest album cover.Unsurprisingly the decals fit Zooey's signature cute, retro style. The mod designs feature pastel bows and squares. Can you say adorkable?!

But the best part? The decal set is free when you buy the album from Merge Records using the coupon code NAILS. Which is a total steal and way easier than trying to DIY the actress' famous tuxedo nail art.

NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBSNewYork) — Sandy Hook Promise, a non-profit organization founded following the Newtown school shootings, has created a limited-edition nail polish to show support for the victims.

OPI manufactured the polish called “Sandy Hook Green” and donated 10,000 bottles to the organization.

The polish is not for sale, but will be given out this weekend to people who donate $10 to Sandy Hook Promise during a Salon-a-Thon event at Ricci’s Salon and Spa in Newtown on Sunday.

Two mothers whose children survived the attack came up with the idea after each had their nails painted green at a local salon as a way to cope with their grief.

On Dec. 14, gunman Adam Lanza, who had killed his mother at their Newtown home, went to Sandy Hook Elementary School and opened fire with an assault rifle, killing 20 children and six educators. He killed himself as police arrived at the school.

After the shootings, many wore ribbons made up of the school’s colors, green and white, to show support for the victims. Green has now also become a symbol for the gun control movement.

OPI Walks the Runway with New Couture de Minnie Nail Lacquers Inspired by Minnie Mouse

OPI announces the launch of its Couture de Minnie collection, including four limited edition nail lacquers and one new Liquid Sand shade. Created in honor of Disney’s beloved character, the Couture de Minnie line explores the fashion-forward side of Minnie Mouse, mixing pink, fuschia and red shades with textural elements. In addition to three crème lacquers, the Couture de Minnie line features a red and white polka dot glitter shade and the strawberry-hued Liquid Sand nail lacquer in Magazine Cover Mouse to give nails a sparkly, matte finish.

The Couture de Minnie collection draws inspiration from Minnie’s iconic style and incorporates trends most recently seen on the runways, from standout shades to fun textural elements.”

The Couture de Minnie collection includes:

After leaving the world waiting with bated breath for months, Kate Middleton has finally emerged with her baby bump front and center, and we're thrilled to see that the Duchess seems fully recovered from her bout with hyperemesis gravidarum. She's just so adorable, no? Duchess Kate always looks beautiful and charming, but we've never seen her look so downright giddy and glowing.

Now, if you're as excited for the arrival of the royal munchkin, you can show it — with Butter London's new royal-inspired polish, Pitter Patter (so named for the inevitable mum-in-law question: “Will we hear the pitter-patter of little feet soon?”), an opaque, metallic aubergine shade launched in celebrating of the royal tot-to-be. Whether Wills and Kate have a boy or a girl, we will be sporting this chic shade and counting down the days 'til we get to welcome that beautiful bundle of joy.

Because being ridiculously good looking, a cookbook author, Beyoncé's BFF, and a lifestyle mogul weren't enough for our fair Gwyneth, she's moving on to the beauty biz.

After launching a successful collaboration with British nail brand Butter London last year, Paltrow and her Goop empire have teamed up with them yet again for a new slew of Gwyneth-approved offerings. For this go round, you'll have three different polish trios to choose from — Starkers, The Stones, and Candy Coated — each comprised of three existing Butter London offerings. There's also a nail care set featuring the brand's Hardwear topcoat and "BB cream for your nails," otherwise known as Nail Foundation basecoat.

Prices range from $28 to $40, and the sets are all available now on Goop.
