Product: MAC Opulash Mascara
Shade/Color: Optimum Black
Website Description:
Superlative style & state-of-the-art science merge. A new formula in a more saturated intense black with extra-volumization, expansion & curl delivered

Review

This is a nice mascara and I was hoping for dramatic lashes since opulash is a bit of a dramatic name. This mascara enhances what you have by lengthening and slightly darkening your natural lashes. It does not curl. It does not separate. However, the brush is incredibly large. Bigger brushes mean that your mascara is less likely to clump. Opulash's brush has a tapered edge, so make it easier to reach the lashes on the inner corner of the lid as well as coat the bottom lashes.  Please note that I did not coat mines since I like to use my bottom lashes as a reference point. I experience no clumping with this mascara (My favorite mascara is Tarte lights camera lashes! and that one can clump unfortunately). The only occurrence I can see that you can get clumping if you wait too long between coats, and that can happen since this formula is drier. Your finish look is not glossy or wet or dramatic, but more on the natural side.

For girls with short length lashes, there will be a dramatic difference. If you're lashes are long line mines, there are better mascaras out there for you.

I don't think so. I mean only if there's some reason you're never satisfied with drugstore mascara. Mascara is almost like foundation with how personal preferences can be; I have had smudge problems with a lot of drugstore and high end alike, and am willing to pay for something that doesn't smudge, but other people have great success with brands like Maybelline Full 'n Soft.

Plus mascaras are something you have to throw away so much more frequently than other make up. It isn't worth it for me to spend that much money on mascara (and we all know they can get pretty pricey!)

The only reason I buy a certain more expensive mascara (Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes for example) is because everything else I've ever used (high-end or drugstore) has irritated my eyes. For me, it's worth it. It's the difference between my eyes watering/getting a wicked migraine and just having pretty lashes. However, mascaras typically have a 6 months expiration period (yes! 6 months! have you thrown out your old mascara yet?)

I know some people swear it's worth it, and some people swear it isn't. People can't even come up with a definition of "better mascara" because everyone have different needs. My advice has always been try it for yourself.
